How This Construction Material Calculator Works
A useful construction material calculator should start with the work being performed. Concrete, brick masonry and plaster do not use the same formula. This tool therefore separates them into three calculators while keeping the results together in one page.
For concrete, enter the finished wet volume and choose a cement:sand:aggregate ratio. For a brick wall, enter the wall dimensions, brick size and mortar joint. For plaster, enter surface area, plaster thickness and cement:sand ratio.
Concrete Material Calculation
The concrete calculator converts finished wet concrete volume to an estimated dry-material volume and then divides that volume according to the selected cement, sand and aggregate ratio. The dry-volume factor is visible and editable.
M20 and M15 are included as convenient nominal-ratio presets. For engineered structural work, use the mix design specified by the responsible engineer rather than assuming a generic preset is suitable.
Brick Wall Material Calculation
Brick quantity is estimated from wall volume and the effective brick dimensions including the mortar joint. Brick dimensions and joint thickness remain editable because actual bricks vary by region and supplier.
The calculator also estimates the mortar volume between the bricks, then divides the dry mortar into cement and sand according to your selected masonry ratio. A wastage percentage can be added for cutting, breakage and site losses.
Plaster Material Calculator
Plaster quantity starts with surface area multiplied by plaster thickness. The wet plaster volume is converted to a dry-material estimate and divided into cement and sand according to the chosen ratio.
Internal, external and ceiling presets are included for convenience, but every thickness and ratio can be edited before calculation.
Construction Material Calculator for Pakistan & India
The material formulas are based on project dimensions rather than country. Pakistan and India are included primarily for currency selection when optional material prices are entered. This means a user can calculate quantities first and then apply current local cement, sand, aggregate or brick prices.
This approach avoids hard-coding market prices that can quickly become outdated and differ between cities, suppliers and project specifications.

Can I calculate construction materials for a whole house from square feet?
A whole-house quantity cannot be determined reliably from floor area alone. Foundations, columns, beams, slab thickness, wall lengths, wall thicknesses, openings and finishes all affect the quantities. Use this page for work-item estimates and approved drawings or a BOQ for the complete project.
Why is the dry-volume factor editable?
Dry ingredients contain voids and compact after water is added. Planning calculations therefore often use a volume-adjustment factor. Keeping it editable makes the assumption visible rather than hiding it.
How much extra should I add for brick wastage?
Wastage depends on transport, handling, cutting and site conditions. Use the wastage field to apply the allowance appropriate for your project.
Does this calculator work in Pakistan and India?
Yes. The quantities are calculated from dimensions and ratios. Select Pakistan or India if you also want optional material costs shown in PKR or INR.
Does the result replace an engineer or quantity surveyor?
